I thought it would be fun to share my toddler room ideas and inspiration with you!
This weekend we tackled painting the room, and I toiled loooong and hard over what I wanted it to look like. This space is going to be a toddler room and a gender neutral nursery, as it will serve as the bedroom for my toddler son and one year old daughter (and maybe even our little one that’s on the way).
Are we crazy to try this? Maybe.
I love seeing when other people share their ideas and moodboard, especially since I am a very visual person. I usually have an idea of what I want in my head, but it’s hard for me to get the exact vision without seeing what other people have done and how it’s come together.
So here’s a little bit of the color/painting inspiration for our toddler room and gender neutral nursery:
I also have an entire pinterest board for their room, if you want to get a full feel for the direction we’re wanting to go (along with some other beautiful room inspiration we aren’t doing this time). Here’s the link to the board!
But to continue…
Here’s the theme that I’m hoping to cultivate:
The inspiration for this room is as follows:
- Using colors that I love, because I learned in my last house it’s worth doing what you’re drawn to.
- Our house is currently painted with a lot of “cool” colors, and it’s just dreary. Trying to warm up the rooms a bit.
- This is going to be gender neutral, as my oldest son and daughter will be sharing. Plus, as our family grows I wanted something that anyone could be in, if we needed to change things up.
- Probably the biggest reason? I have a surf board that I’ve been holding on to for the last 12 years and really want a place to put it… My husband veto’d the living room (cause it really doesn’t make sense in the middle of Georgia) so going to put it in the kids rooms!
Haha, did you expect that last one? Likely not.
Friends have always asked why we have a surfboard (previously was hung in our garage) and so it’s a fun conversation starter. Looking forward to having this as a statement piece in the kids room!
So what do you think? Are you vibing the direction we’re going or not sure about it yet?
I’m excited to share before and afters (the room is quite a statement with it being cotton-candy-pink currently) so I can’t wait to show you more once it’s complete.
