First things first, I need to say that I did not come up with this game! I’m not really sure who did (I’ve read it on multiple websites) so… I’d love to give credit, but not sure who to give credit to.
However, while I don’t normally like to share uncredited things… this game was too golden to pass up!
If you want to share things you’re grateful for this year at Thanksgiving, but want to do so in a less cheesy way (though I’m personally fan of going around the table and sharing blessings), then this might be the perfect game for you and your crew!
How to play:
Everybody takes a few pieces of scrap paper (you can cut/rip this beforehand) and they write down something they are grateful for.
Then, they add that piece of paper to a bowl, and the designated “narrator” will read the pieces of paper (one by one) and everyone around the table has to guess who wrote that gratitude!
>> If your fam is super tech savy, you can create a google form and have everyone submit their answers there (though maybe they can do this before you get to the table, so everyone isn’t on their phones).
Simple as that!
We played a similar version of this game with friends a couple weeks ago (only instead of blessings we shared random facts) and it was a lot of fun!
We are a pretty close-nit group, and I was still amazed at how many answers we guessed incorrectly 😉 so it was a great “get to know you” game and I think the “blessing” version of this game would be equally fun!
Are you going to play it this year? Or what’s your favorite way to recount blessings around the table at Thanksgiving?
