Today’s recipe is one of my FAVES! It’s not my own recipe, as I found it from this website ~ it’s based off of a family recipe from a small company in Bali (how cool though, right?!).
In this link, she shares the recipe (which I’ll also share the base recipe below) as well as how to modify it (using essential oils) to turn the salve from a basic salve to a lip salve, skin salve, “owie” salve, etc.
Ingredients:
- 10 grams beeswax (about 1 tablespoon)
- 5 grams cocoa butter ( about 1 1/2 teaspoons)
- 60 ml coconut oil (about 1/4 cup)
- 4 drops essential oils (I used lavender)
- Glass container
Instructions:
- Slowly melt all the ingredients in a pot over low heat (took about 10-15 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- Once everything is melted, add to glass jar and add in essential oils.
- Let cool and use once it’s come to room temperature. Enjoy!
That’s it! Lip salves are my faaaavorite, and an absolute staple beauty product in my house. Plus I love how easy it is to customize this salve to fit your needs/friends/family needs. The base is great on it’s own, but add in some essential oils to really pack a punch.
