Hello friends!
I’m so excited to kick off the beginning of December with the 12 Days of DIYs!
I got this idea during one of our team’s power hours, and I’ve been stoooooked to make it happen! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE doing DIY’s, and I think often times people think DIY = complicated.
But that doesn’t have to be true!
I’m hoping over the next 11 days (twelve including today’s post) that these DIY’s will encourage you to get your hands dirty, get a little crafty, and maybe make a few special homemade gifts this year.
So I wanted to kick things off with a fun and festive holiday themed DIY!
I decided to go with a sugar scrub, because it’s classic, you likely have all the ingredients already in your home, and it’s SUPER easy to modify to fit what you have in your kitchen, or the scents you prefer to make.
For today’s DIY, I decided to go with a Vanilla Peppermint Sugar Scrub and a Gingerbread Latte Sugar Scrub.

And then here are the recipes:
Vanilla Peppermint Sugar Scrub
Ingredients/Supplies:
- Glass Jar (I used these ones)
- Sugar of your choice (I used organic cane sugar)
- Fractionated Coconut Oil (this is what I used)
- Clear Organic Vanilla (link to what I used)
- Peppermint Young Living Essential Oil
- Candy Canes (optional)
Instructions:
- Fill 3/4 of jar with sugar (or 3/4 cup of sugar) and add to mixing bowl.
- Add 1/4 cup of FCO (Fractionated Coconut Oil); stir together.
- Add in 2tsp of of the vanilla and 8 drops of the YL Peppermint EO.
- Mix together and enjoy!
- Optional: decorated for a little extra flair.
Gingerbread Latte Sugar Scrub
Ingredients/Supplies:
- Glass Jar (I used these ones)
- Sugar of your choice (I used coconut sugar but would recommend brown sugar instead)
- Fractionated Coconut Oil (this is what I used)
- Young Living Ginger, Clove, Cinnamon and Nutmeg EO’s
- Molasses (optional)
Instructions:
- Fill 3/4 of jar with sugar (or 3/4 cup of sugar) and add to mixing bowl.
- Add 1/4 cup of FCO (Fractionated Coconut Oil); stir together.
- Add in Young Living Essential Oils: 8 drops ginger, 6-7 drops cinnamon, 6-7 drops of clove and 1-2 drops of nutmeg.
- Optional: add in 1 tsp of molasses
- Stir together and enjoy!
- Decorate and gift to a loved one.
