Today’s DIY is on that I’ve personally super excited to make! Last year I did my first ever “facial” (I put it in quotes because it was for sickness, not for skin benefits) but neverthelessI fell in love! However, I haven’t really done it again since then… So I’m excited to have and use it!
This is another recipe that hails from the Young Living blog, Lavender Life. Again, totally recommend you check out their DIY’s, because they’re great!
But here’s an overview:
- 1 cup baking soda (link)
- 1/2 cup citric acid (link)
- 20 drops essential oils (link)
- 2-3 tablespoons witch hazel (link)
- Small spray bottle (link)
- Small silicone molds, about 1 inch across (link)
- Dried flowers (optional, I bought from this Etsy shop)
Instructions:
- If you’re using dried florals, place them on the bottom of your molds.
- Add baking soda and citric acid to a bowl and mix with a wire wisk.
- Add a few tablespoons of witch hazel to a spray bottle (or buy witch hazel already in a spray bottle) and spritz the mixture until it starts to resemble wet sand. It’ll be “ready” when you can form it into a ball, but it also crumbles easily.
- Once the mixture is ready, add to the molds and fill about 1/2-3/4 of the way (as the mixture will rise as it dries).
- Let dry until hardened, right around a day.
- Pop out and add to hot water to enjoy!
Enjoy! If you want to learn more about how to use the facial steamers, just check out Young Living blog, Lavender Life post.
