Hello friends!
I am SUPER excited to write this blog post – this past weekend my sister helped launched a new company! She is an associate under Brad Hart Photography, and they recently announced that they are branching out and starting a new creative company called Hart Haus. I had the pleasure of attending and documenting the weekend (unofficially) and I am stoked to share a little behind the scenes of the weekend with y’all.
Want to know a little more about Hart Haus and what it is? Here’s a description taken from their website:
“HartHaus is a new creative company founded by Brad Hart, offering a wide variety of goods & services with an emphasis on simple, honest, modern design. We care deeply about investing in the next generation of creatives and about our cities developing a creative culture that is kind, caring and uplifting. Therefore, we are so proud of the model that we’ve developed here. HartHaus doubles as an incubator for young creatives entrepreneurs who are extraordinarily talented & creative, but are still growing in the business side. What is so exciting for you, the client, is that you get access to pure artists who are largely undiscovered!”
Pretty cool, right? So this weekend, they had what they called a “Preview Weekend,” where creatives who were interested in joining the Hart Haus team could meet Brad (and Alisa), learn more about the company, ask any questions they might have, and explore the local scene.
So Friday was the kick off day, and for all the out of towners (which included me) we went up to Chicago for the day to do a little exploring! Below are a few of my favorite shots from our exploration day.
So we all piled into a very humbly fitting 8 person vehicle, and made a 2.5 hour drive up to Chicago. Once we got there, we had fun walking around and exploring different areas like Fulton Market, Riverwalk and other parts of downtown. We ate lunch at Publican Quality which was a butcher shop, cafe, bakery and gourmet market, all in one! I’m not a big meat eater, but then had plenty of veggie friendly dishes that were delicious 🙂
We visited a coffee shop called La Columbe Coffee Roasters for a caffeine intake and then continued exploring. We then continued on to downtown and the Riverwalk, a classic Chicago place to walk around. We enjoyed soaking up all the sights and beautiful architecture!
All in all, the day was filled with tons of walking and just enjoying little snippits of the beauty that Chicago has to offer. It’s definitely one of my favorite cities, and everytime I visit, it never disappoints! Plus when you’re in great company, that just makes any adventure all the more fun.
All-in-all, it was a fun day! We headed back pretty earlier, so we could make a bonfire evening that included all the Hart Haus weekend preview people – and I feel like that was the moment that really kicked off the official Hart Haus Weekend. I decided to split everything up into two posts, though, because I took so many photos and I have videos that I’m excited to share with y’all! So stay tuned – more is coming your way.
And if you haven’t already, definitely check out Hart Haus and watch out for the talented ladies and gents that are going to be joining the team!
Below I have a little recap video from the trip – hope you enjoy! (coming soon)
