A few weeks ago I had the privilege to explore the beautiful town of Charleston, SC with my girl squad (also know as the #fourleafsquad) and we had an absolute BLAST! Just in case you don’t know who they are, I traveled with Elisabeth of ElisaAnne Calligraphy, Laura of Laura Barnes Photography and Lindsey of Lindsey LaRue Photography.
We stayed at an adorable Airbnb apartment (this is the specific one, in case you are curious and want to know). The apartment came with a full kitchen, three really lovely bedrooms and a cute living room. It was within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go, but also the perfect size for us to come home after long days of walking (nearly 20,000 steps each day!). We really enjoyed staying there! Even if you don’t stay at that specific one, there are a TON of beautiful AirBnb’s and I highly recommend going that route ๐
I think one of my favorite things about Charleston is the fact that you don’t really have to DO anything – you can literally just walk down King Street and the sights alone are enough to entertain you! In fact, that’s basically what we did on the trip – we just explored the town and were absolutely marveled by all the beauty that was literally on every. single. corner!
Also, I couldn’t believe how many beautiful plants were literally around every corner! Everything from succulents, to different kinds of lettuce (I had no idea there were so many kinds, let alone so many beautiful kinds) and there was also jasmine EVERYWHERE! So basically, everything smelled phenomenal and truly, there was beauty in every direction.
So we really didn’t end up visiting a ton of places – we truly did walk around the majority of the time, but below I’ve listed a few of the places we did stop by, along with some recommendations from others! ๐
Food: Sugar Bake Shop, Hominy Grill (highly recommend the veggie platter), Five Loaves Cafe (get their delicious juice – I tried the green machine), Poe’s Tavern, Caviar and Banana’s (great for a quick stop, with a variety of things), Poogan’s Porch, etc.
Shops: Savannah Bee company (one of my FAVE new stores), Skinny Dip, the City Market (they also have food). And, of course, have all your typical shops – from fast fashions stores like F21 and Urban, all the way to Anthro and even high-end shops.
Coffee: City Lights Cafe (say hello to Greg), Blacktop Coffee.
City Lights Cafe was one of our favorite stops – we ended up going back the next day because the proprietor was a lot of fun. PLUS, they had honey lavender lattes! So you know me – anything with lavender in it, and I’m pretty much obsessed/hooked/have to buy it.
Well, I hoped your enjoyed this little post! I took about a ZILLION more photos, but I didn’t want to overwhelm you. I will keep posting them on Instagram, so if you don’t follow me on there, you can right here!
On our last day there, my sweet friends stopped by the beach – mostly for me (because it is my FAVORITE place in the world). It was totally destiny, because The Beatles are my favorite band, and there was totally a “Wall You Need Is Love” sign, that pretty much made my day complete! The picture is below ๐
P.S. On our way home, we did make a very quick stop in Savannah (because we literally drove through there on our way back) and stopped at The Paris Market. I HIGHLY recommend if you are ever in the area, it is totally worth stopping by! It was definitely one of the cutest and quality shops I have ever been to… Plus they had lavender macaroons AND lavender flavored tea’s – so that right there just about won me over.
Also, Lindsey’s enthusiasm alone for this store was just the most adorable thing! ๐
And in case you haven’t seen it, I made my first EVER vlog about our trip, and you can view that here:
