As you may or may not have heard, Pumpkin Spice is officially back at Starbucks and that somehow gives the vibe that it’s socially acceptable to start celebrating fall!
It’s no secret that fall is my FAVORITE time of year: there’s just so much magic in the air between the leaves, the cooler temps, the sweaters, boots, warm and inviting smells and foods… It’s just so, so good.
Plus, after a crazy 2020 so far, it feels really nice to get back into a rhythm with schools being back in session (to some capacity) and overall getting back into a familiar routine.
So if you’re like me, and you’re ready to go into FULL Fall mode... I thought I’d share a few fun things you can do to help you get there (since we’re still waiting for physical pumpkins in stores, pumpkin patches to open, etc.)
Here’s your checklist:
- Grab a PSL or pumpkin related drink from Starbucks
- OR if you can’t hang with the dairy (I know I can’t) then you can make your own at home with this DIY (or buy some from Target)
- Start diffusing fall scents (I love Thieves, clove, and cinnamon – and there’s plenty of blends you can google for specific things like PSL)
- Grab a cute fall mask (just purchased this pumpkin one from Etsy)
- Unpack your sweaters (even if you can only wear them inside now)
- Make a Fall bucket list (or wait for a blog post, coming soon ;))
- Bake some delicious fall treats (like this, this or this)
- Go apple picking (it’s socially distanced approved and SO delicious)
- Decorate your house for fall!
- Do a Fall Craft (if you need inspo, try this, this or this)
- Visit your local farmers Market (this is also the place you’re most likely to find pumpkins first!)
- Try Pickling or Preserving. This feels soo quintessentially fall, to prep harvests now for winter… and this is a lovely way to do so!
- Pick up a new hobby/learn something new. So whether you try your hand at cross stitching, knitting, prioritizing walking outside (now that it’s cooler) or yoga, or even reading a physical book regularly… fall is a great time to learn something new (and perfect it during winter months)
- Make a delicious, autumn squash soup. They’re so rich and creamy and overall just fall in a warm cup. Here’s some ideas: link, link, link
- Make a Gratitude Journal. Write down all the things that you’re thankful for. This will be a great keepsake during hard winter months.
Can’t wait to continue to do the things on this list!
I’d love to know: any “fall” items that I should add to this list? What’s your favorite way to kick start the fall season? Comment below!
